In flight: Short-haul business class on Lufthansa

Friday I was booked in M from FRA-CPH and when I scanned my boarding card one of the nice things occurred. The self service machine printed out a new seat for me with the word “upgrade”.

So into the seat and as always on C in short-haul in Europe the only seat difference are the blocked middle seat which is nice on a fully booked flight.

Shortly after take off the cabin crew started to serve the light meal. Today it was a salad with salmon and dandelions (it was my first time). It was quite good with a light meal on this short flight. As dessert a Praline cream with berries. Nice and sweet.

All in all a good flight with a crew that preformed as expected and a on time arrival to CPH.

Was on my 4th week of work in Lyon and on this afternoon flight a “celebrity” was among the passangers. This was Søren Søndergaard, a Danish politician from “Enhedslisten” and member of the EU parlement. I have always wondered what our tax money are going to on this flight I got a small idea of what some of the tax payers money is going to. This is the let Søren Søndergaard to fly in business class on the “peoples money”

Well the flight did go as planed and it was eventless which always is good and enjoying a free cup of tea which SAS now have made free of charge. Another good thing from SAS. Let us hope that 2012 will continue with good news in their 20th anniversary of EuroBonus.

Was at my favorite seat (8F – emergency exit) on my way home from Lyon and during the BoB service the guy next to me bought a coke plus sandwich for bonus point. This was the first time I experienced this and could not avoid asking him about “why the devil he is spending valuable points for this”. He said he had around 200K points and this was a way using it. When I heard this I almost fall off the seat even though it was a window seat…. I told him that for this amount he could get a first class award to USA/Asia and still have points left on the account afterwards. He did not know this so here is where I was starting to wonder. How many of these EB members is out there and if there is many then I suddenly starts to see what a good business case SAS have for getting some of these points written of for a bargain.

The guy would now go have and look at the web page for F awards with LH

Otherwise the flight from LYS-CPH was quite normal. The stewardess did help me with a non SK blanket as this Cimber CRJ200 did not have any normal one on board. Thanks for this which made the flight home much better that Thursday evening.
